Super ball stick
A super ball stick is made by putting a regular rubber super ball on a long metal or wooden stick. It is simple to make yourself but also possible to buy at percussion stores.

Production
The super ball stick is used to rub along a string or the soundboard. It is necessary to apply considerable pressure to the handle in order to obtain the required sound.
Sound
The super ball stick produces a "whale"-like drone, both on the sound board and on the strings. On the strings the sound is somewhat more diffused. There is a considerable difference in sound between the gut and the wire strings.
Notation
A verbal explanation is required. If the super ball stick is used on the soundboard, the action should be notated between or below the two staves.
