Bisbigliando glissando

A bisbigliando glissando is a sound effect that is produced by playing several fast glissandi one after another with alternating hands. 

A bisbigliando glissando can be played stationary; the fingers slide repeatedly over the same strings, or moving; the fingers slide over a certain interval that moves upwards or downwards. Bisbigliando glissandi can be played with the fingers or the fingernails.

A blisbigliando glissando sounds like a bisbigliando cluster.

A bisbigliando glissando is notated by indicating the interval that the fingers should slide over. A tremolo sign is added to the stem of the notes and an arpeggio arrow shows the direction of the slides. Furthermore the term bisbigl. gliss. should be added above the glissando.

If the bisbigliando glissando moves through the range of the harp an interval should be placed at the beginning and the end of the moving bisbigliando glissando.

As with all glissandos, pedal settings should be indicated at the beginning of the glissando passage.
