Glissando with nail
Production
The nail of the finger is used to slide over the strings. Harpists normally use the thumb to slide upwards and the second finger to slide down. Three fingers can be used simultaneously on each hand to create multiple nail glissandi.
Sound
The sound is sharper and more penetrating than a normal glissando.
Notation
When notating a nail glissando the nail symbol is added to normal glissando notation.
Range
The whole harp.
